Regarding the EU - this October David Cameron said he will take the fight on red tape to the EU after a report by business leaders found that it is costing UK firms billions of pounds.

An Ark Workplace Risk spokesperson said ‘there are a number of implications for large organisations which will need addressing; from assessing their risk and compliance issues associated with small and medium businesses in their EU supply chain to how they will ensure governance across their pan European business activities’.

The Prime Minister's business taskforce said relaxing the rules on health and safety compliance alone may save £2bn.
